Part 1: Who Jesus Is
Summary: The "I AM" Statements Together
Let's bring it all together.
Jesus is:
- The Bread of Life → God sustains you
- The Light of the World → God reveals truth to you
- The Door → God gives you access to salvation
- The Good Shepherd → God protects and guides you
- The Resurrection and the Life → God defeats death for you
- The Way, the Truth, and the Life → God is your only path, your ultimate reality, your eternal existence
- The True Vine → God produces fruit through you as you abide in Him
Every statement reveals:
- Your need (hunger, darkness, lostness, vulnerability, death, deception, fruitlessness)
- His provision (He satisfies, illuminates, saves, protects, resurrects, reveals, empowers)
- His identity (He is God — YHWH — the great I AM)
You need all of Him.
Not just Jesus the Savior who forgives your sins (though that's essential).
Also Jesus the:
- Sustainer (Bread)
- Revealer (Light)
- Protector (Shepherd, Door)
- Life-giver (Resurrection, Vine)
- Truth (Way, Truth, Life)
The Inescapable Question
Who is Jesus?
Not "What do you think of His teachings?" Not "Do you find Him inspiring?"
WHO IS HE?
Based on what we've seen, there are only three options:
Option 1: He is telling the truth — He IS God.
If this is true:
- Worship Him
- Obey Him
- Build your entire life around Him
- Tell everyone you know about Him
Option 2: He is lying — He knows He's not God but claims to be anyway.
If this is true:
- He's evil (claiming deity is the ultimate blasphemy)
- Don't follow Him
- Warn others against Him
Option 3: He is deluded — He sincerely believes He's God but He's wrong.
If this is true:
- He's insane
- Pity Him, but don't follow Him
- Don't build your life on the teachings of a madman
What you CANNOT say:
"He was a great moral teacher but not God."
A great moral teacher doesn't claim to be God unless it's true.
