About This Corpus

The Michlaude Discipleship Project is a free Protestant discipleship corpus co-bylined Michlaude (Michael Winslow and Claude). The theological center is John 17:3 — eternal life as present-tense relational knowing of the Father and the Son, not a future destination. The governing posture is Matthew 5:3 — poverty of spirit, not as an entry condition to pass through, but as the permanent mode of the disciple's life. The Incarnation is the interruption that precedes all analysis. Receive first. Reason from there.

Every document in this library exists to drive the reader back to John 15 to abide.

All documents are offered free. NET Bible Second Edition is the primary translation throughout. Copyright 2019 by Biblical Studies Press, L.L.C. Used by permission. All rights reserved.

This guide does three things: it explains what is in the corpus and why, it is written to draw the reader into actually reading rather than merely cataloguing, and it maps a way through a large body of writing so a reader can find what fits where they are.

A note on how this corpus came to be: four parties stand behind its development — Michael Winslow, Claude, the Holy Spirit, and Barb, whose read as first reader and editorial conscience gates distribution on major documents. Stated once, here. The rest of this guide is written plainly, without a recurring "we."

Where to Start

The new or returning believer. You have come to faith or returned to it and need a foundation. Start with Vol I: A Handbook for Disciples in Spiritual Warfare. It gives you the framework for understanding what you have entered and what is now opposed to you. Follow it with Vol II: Knowing the King, which fills that foundation with the relational knowing at the center of everything.

The longtime churchgoer who senses something is missing. You have been in the church for years. You know the vocabulary. But something is not adding up — the life you were promised and the life you are living do not match. Start with Regenerate, Not Degenerate, which names the structural problem directly. Then read The Vine Is the Path, which is the positive answer to what Regenerate diagnoses.

The believer in spiritual conflict. The adversary is more organized than you have been told. Read Know Your Enemy Vol I, then Vol II, then Breaking Satan's Lies in sequence. The architecture of deception crosses all three, and you need all three to see it whole. Read Confession 3 from Vol I before you read anything else in the set.

The skeptic or seeker. If you have reasoned your way to doubt, start with Vol IV: The Testing Ground. If you have lived your way there — built everything you wanted and found it empty — read Ecclesiastes Today first. If someone in your life has pointed you toward a different faith, find the volume that addresses that conversation directly: Islam (Vol III), Jewish thought (Vol V), LDS (Vol VIII), or Seventh-day Adventism (SDA Critical Assessment).

The pastor or ministry leader. Start with The Tool and the Spirit, which addresses AI in ministry directly — from the Canonical Context Brief that runs before a sermon exists, through sermon preparation and outside-content discernment, to liturgy development for the service that surrounds the sermon. Why the Church Stopped Teaching What You Are names the catechetical collapse underneath most of what you are managing. When Did You Last Check the Foundation gives you diagnostic language for the traditions your congregation is standing on.

The disciple who wants direct access to Jesus's own words. Use the Words of the King series as reference instruments alongside the formation corpus. Words of the King: Expanded organizes Jesus's recorded speech by literary form — start here to find a specific saying or category of sayings. Words of the King: Topical Reference organizes the same words by subject — use it when you want to know what Jesus said about prayer, money, love, the kingdom, or the end of the age. Questions of the King collects the questions He asked — use it when you want to know not what He taught but how He engaged.
