Part 1: Who Jesus Is
A Prayer for Those Seeking Salvation
This isn't a magic formula. God saves based on the genuine cry of your heart, not because you say specific words.
But if you mean this, pray something like:
"God, I'm a sinner. I've rebelled against You all my life. I deserve Your judgment. I can't save myself. No amount of good works, religion, or effort can make me right with You.
I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe He died on the cross for my sins. I believe You raised Him from the dead. I believe He's Lord.
I repent. I turn from my sin. I'm done running from You.
I trust in Jesus alone to save me. Not my works. Not my religion. Jesus alone.
Jesus, be my Lord. Be my Savior. Come into my life. Make me new. Give me Your Spirit. Save me.
I give You my life — all of it. From this day forward, I'm Yours.
In Jesus' name, Amen."
What Happens Next?
If you just prayed that prayer genuinely — from your heart, not just reading words — here's what happens:
1. You're Saved
"For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
— Romans 10:13 (NET)
Not "might be saved" or "hopefully saved." WILL BE SAVED.
If you genuinely repented and trusted Christ, you're saved. Right now. Forever.
2. The Holy Spirit Comes to Dwell in You
"You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you."
— Romans 8:9 (NET)
You now have the "oil" the foolish virgins lacked. The Spirit lives in you. He'll guide you, convict you, empower you, transform you.
3. You're Adopted into God's Family
You're no longer an orphan or an enemy. You're a child of God. Forever.
"See what sort of love the Father has given to us: that we should be called God's children — and indeed we are!"
— 1 John 3:1 (NET)
4. Your Sins Are Forgiven
All of them. Past, present, future. The blood of Christ covers everything.
"And even though you were dead in your transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he nevertheless made you alive with him, having forgiven all your transgressions. He has destroyed what was against us, a certificate of indebtedness expressed in decrees opposed to us. He has taken it away by nailing it to the cross."
— Colossians 2:13–14 (NET)
5. You Begin a New Life
This is day one of your new life. The old you is dead. You're a new creation.
Now the real work begins: Learning to walk with Jesus. Obeying His commands. Growing in holiness. Making disciples.
That's what the rest of this handbook is about.
