Part Three: The Six Lies Currently Deployed

Chapter 8: "Trump Is the Antichrist" (Or: "Trump Will Save Us") (1 of 2)

The Double Misdirection and Why Both Directions Are Apparatus

The Lie (Both Versions Simultaneously)

Left version: "Trump is the Antichrist. Christians are being deceived by a fascist. Your faith is being weaponized toward hate. This is not of God."

Right version: "Trump is God's chosen instrument. We must take back our culture. Build a Christian nation. This is our moment. God is using this man to restore America."

The remarkable thing about these two lies is not their opposition to each other. It is their identical function. Both are apparatus. Both pull Christians away from the actual work.

The Adversary's Logic

Confessional voice, operating from both directions simultaneously:

"I operate from both directions at once. This is my most efficient operation. I don't need to choose a side. I just need both sides to be consumed with the political battle. The left becomes obsessed with defeating Trump. The right becomes obsessed with using Trump. Either way, Christians are pulled from their actual work. The left makes you so focused on opposing him that you neglect knowing the Father and the Son. The right makes you so focused on defending him that you neglect knowing the Father and the Son. Both directions accomplish the same thing: they keep you from abiding. They keep you from witness. They keep you from rescue. And they keep you from recognizing the antichrist spirit—which is operating in both directions simultaneously."

MQG Analysis

Straw Man (Both Directions)

Left: Trump's actual documented actions (restraint with Iran, documented behavioral patterns) are never engaged on their own terms. Only characterizations are offered: "weakness," "self-interest," "fascism." The strongest case for his actions is replaced with a characterization.

Right: Kingdom theology is conflated with political power. Jesus's actual teaching about the nature of the kingdom is never engaged on its own terms. Only the argument for political restoration is presented. The strongest case for spiritual kingdom work is replaced with an argument for political victory.

Suppressed Lens

Left suppresses: The Cyrus principle (God uses unrighteous actors). God's use of an instrument is not endorsement of that instrument's character or prayers. Isaiah 45:1—God called Cyrus "my anointed one" without making Cyrus a believer. God's work through someone and God's approval of someone are not the same thing.

Right suppresses: "My kingdom is not of this world" (John 18:36). Acts 1:7-8. The disciples asked Jesus about restoring Israel's kingdom. Jesus redirected: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses." The method is relational. The kingdom work is through the Spirit. Not through political power. Not through taking back culture. Through witness.

Missing Context

"Children, it is the last hour, and just as you heard that the antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. We know from this that it is the last hour." — 1 John 2:18 (NET)

The missing context that inverts the entire conversation. Scripture's definition of antichrist is not a singular future figure. It is a spirit of opposition to Christ that is already present and operating throughout history through multiple agents. "Many antichrists." Present tense.

The question "Is Trump the Antichrist?" is built on a misunderstanding of what the Scriptures say antichrist is. The right question is: "Where is the antichrist spirit operating?" Answer: Everywhere human power sets itself against God's purposes. Including uncritical Christian nationalism. Including political obsession of every variety. Including the tribalism that makes you unable to see how both left and right are pulling you away from abiding.

PIT Analysis

Domain Classification

Domestic Political (both directions) + Theological/Eschatological (both directions)

Two Lenses—Across Both Narratives

Left's Lens A: "Trump is a threat to democracy and Christian values." Left's Lens B: "God uses unrighteous actors to accomplish His purposes. Discernment requires separating what God is doing through someone from endorsement of that person's character."

Right's Lens A: "Trump is God's chosen instrument for cultural restoration." Right's Lens B: "God's kingdom comes through the Spirit and witness, not through political power. Taking back culture is not the commission Jesus gave."
