Breaking Satan's Lies

APPENDIX E: The Procession Reality (Confidence Check)

"Disarming the rulers and authorities, he has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross." — Colossians 2:15 (NET)

Not future tense. Past tense. The Adversary is already defeated. He is in the procession. Chained. The crowd is not watching him because his power is impressive. The crowd is watching the one who put him in chains.

This is not a metaphor for later. This is the present reality. In this moment. Right now. The Adversary has no authority over you that the cross has not already stripped from him. He operates through deception and the flesh because that is all he has left. He cannot bind. He cannot control. He cannot prevent the Spirit's effectiveness when you surrender.

When the carnal appeal is working, when the thought is accelerating, when the pressure feels overwhelming, you need this reality. Not later. Now.

The Confidence Check:

  1. Pause. In this moment, what has authority over me? Name it. The pressure. The thought. The fear. The appetite. The lie.
  2. Remember. The one who put the Adversary in chains is here. Now. Not somewhere else. Not in the future. Here. In your life. In this room. In this moment. He has already won.
  3. Watch the procession. The Adversary is in it. Exposed. Chained. His authority is gone. The only power he still has is the power you give him through carnal assent—through listening to the lie, through fear, through self-protection. You can revoke that power in any moment by yielding to the Spirit's will instead.
  4. Act from that reality. You don't act from fear. You don't act from the pressure. You act from the truth of the procession. The one who defeated the Adversary is with you. His Spirit is in you. His power is available to you right now.

This is not positive thinking. This is the operative fact of the present moment. The Adversary's defeat is not in doubt. The procession continues. The outcome is not in question. What is in question, in any given moment, is whether you will be the branch that remains in the vine or the branch that attempts to bear fruit on its own.
