How to use the Ask the Michlaude Library notebook

By Michael W Winslow ·

The books and papers on this site are also in a shared AI notebook, so you can ask them a question in plain words and get an answer drawn from them. Every statement in the answer carries a small number, and the number opens the passage it came from. Here is how to use it.

  1. Open it. Click AI in the menu at the top of any page, or go to the Ask the library page. The notebook opens in a separate tab, on Google.
  2. Sign in if Google asks. The notebook needs a Google account.
  3. Type your question in the box at the bottom, the way you would ask a friend. A question you actually have works better than a topic.
  4. Click the small numbers in the answer. The notebook opens the passage itself, so you can read the author’s own words and judge for yourself.
  5. Come back by switching tabs. The notebook is on Google, not on this site, so your site tab is still open right where you left it.

If you are not sure where to start, try one of these:

  • How do I hear the voice of the Spirit?
  • What is the difference between conviction and condemnation?
  • What do the books say about spiritual warfare?

The Ask the library page has a short narrated video of a real question put to the notebook, with the answer and the passage behind it.

Three things to keep in mind. It is a research tool, not a writing tool: use it to find what the books say, and where, and do not ask it to write for you and then pass the words off as the author’s. It is an AI and can make mistakes, so read the passage behind anything that matters. And the books and Scripture itself remain the final authority, not the notebook’s summary.

What you ask goes to Google, under your account, and not through michlaude.com. This site does not see your questions or the answers; it only counts how many times the notebook link was opened, one number a day, with no name or address kept.
