Part One · Chapter Four
Deploying the Seal in Spiritual Warfare (2 of 2)
These are not encouragements to pray. They are sealed decrees about what prayer in the King’s name accomplishes. A disciple who has internalized these statements does not approach the Father timidly, as if uncertain whether the Father wishes to be bothered. He approaches the throne of grace with the King’s Amen in his mouth.
This does not mean demanding. It means confidence rooted in the King’s sealed promise. There is a difference between a citizen who knocks tentatively on a government office door and a royal ambassador who walks through that door with the King’s signed authorization in his hand. Both are asking for something. Only one is asking from a position of legal authority. The Verily statements on prayer are the disciple’s authorization.
The Practice: Praying the Seal Back to the King
One of the most powerful prayer practices available to the disciple is to pray the Verily statements back to the Father as declarations of faith. This is not manipulation. It is the practice of holding God to His own sealed word — which is precisely what the Psalms do, what Moses did at the edge of the Red Sea, and what Paul describes when he says the Spirit intercedes through us with “groanings too deep for words” (Romans 8:26).
What does this look like?
It looks like a parent praying for a prodigal child and saying: “Father, You sealed it. You said in John 6:37: ‘Very truly I tell you, everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me.’ I am holding that seal before You. I am claiming the promise. My child belongs to You. I am asking for what You promised.”
It looks like a disciple facing an impossible situation and saying: “Jesus, You sealed it. You said: ‘If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move, and it will move.’ I have that much faith. I am speaking to this mountain. Move. In Jesus’ name.”
It looks like a warrior in the middle of spiritual combat saying: “You are the faithful and true witness. You said of Yourself in Revelation 3:14 that You are the Amen. I am standing on Your Amen. I am standing on the seal You placed on every promise You ever made. Enemy, you have no ground here. The King’s seal is on this territory.”
The Amen That Holds the Universe
Revelation 3:14 is the final word on the Verily statements: “These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation.”
Jesus is not just the one who speaks Amen. He is the Amen. He is the living fulfillment of every yes and every truth and every sealed declaration in the entire canon of Scripture. Paul says it in 2 Corinthians 1:20: “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
Every Verily statement in the Gospels is not just a sealed declaration from Jesus. It is a window into the character of the One who is Himself the eternal Amen. The One who cannot lie. The One who cannot contradict Himself. The One whose word spoke galaxies into being and holds them in place at this moment by the power of His continued speaking (Hebrews 1:3).
The disciple who learns to fight with the Verily statements is not fighting with arguments. He is fighting with the spoken word of the One who IS the Amen.
Take up this weapon. Learn the statements. Know which seal corresponds to which battle. Pray the decrees. Speak them aloud into the situations where the enemy is contesting ground. Deploy them in conversations where lies are being presented as truth. Hold them before the Father as the authorization documents they are.
The King sealed these words. They are firm. They are established. They will not move.
Stand on them.
