The Words That Were Added
What Is Already True
The Word of God endures. Jesus said so, and He said it in a form that left no room for qualification:
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away." — Matthew 24:35 (NET)
That is not in dispute. The question this document addresses is a different one, and it is a question serious Christians should not be afraid of: which words, from which manuscripts, through which transmission, reached the page you are holding? That is not faithlessness. It is fidelity. The person who refuses to ask it is not protecting Scripture. He is protecting an assumption about Scripture, which is a different thing entirely.
A graphic produced by KJV Apologetics Press and circulating on social media makes thirteen claims against the New International Version, all of them built on the premise that the KJV is the standard from which modern translations deviate. The graphic is not argument. It is alarm. But the claims are specific enough to examine, and examining them is worth doing -- because the position they defend is not a defense of Scripture. It is a defense of a tradition built on top of Scripture, and the tradition has become a stumbling block.
