Michlaude Discipleship Project

SDA Critical Assessment

Appendix: Analytical Documentation (1 of 2)

A. Instruments Used in This Assessment

Spiritual Discernment Tool (SDT v2.4) — Michlaude Discipleship Project. A two-track media analysis instrument (Track A for primary sources, Track B for secondary sources) that assesses formation architecture through an eight-pair discernment framework. Produces a formation designation of FORMATION-NEUTRAL, FORMATION-CONCERNING, or SPIRITUAL COUNTERFEIT ARCHITECTURE. Two runs were conducted for this assessment: one on Ellen White's writings as a formation system, one on a representative YouTube video drawing on the Great Controversy framework.

Theology Grader v6.0 — Michlaude Discipleship Project. A four-axis instrument assessing theological content across Theosis Depth (0–30), Love as God's Nature (0–30), Communicative Effectiveness (0–30), and Apostolic Fullness (0–35). Applied to the 28 Fundamental Beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church as the official doctrinal statement.

Hallucination Guard v1.3 — Michlaude Discipleship Project. Applied throughout; all factual claims traceable to confirmed sources.

B. SDT Formation Designations

Run 1 — Ellen White's writings (The Great Controversy; Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 5)

Formation Designation: SPIRITUAL COUNTERFEIT ARCHITECTURE

Pairs at counterfeit pole (7 of 8):

  • Pair 1 (Fear/Genuine Concern): Toward Manufactured Fear — prophetic certainty exceeds what the documented evidence establishes; calibrated to Sunday-law surveillance
  • Pair 3 (Clarity/False Clarity): Toward False Clarity — the sensation of understanding within a hidden Adventist framework the reader has not been told they are receiving
  • Pair 4 (Solidarity/Contempt): Toward Contempt-generating — Catholic and Sunday-keeping Protestant actors absorbed into prophetic categories; opposition not engaged as persons
  • Pair 5 (Identity/Tribal Capture): Toward Tribal Capture — Severe; Adventist remnant identity as the end-time dividing line, inaccessible from outside the framework
  • Pair 6 (Sabbath/Anxious Vigilance): Toward Anxious Vigilance — Severe; Saturday observance as ongoing spiritual warfare site; news monitored for prophetic fulfillment signals
  • Pair 7 (Charity/Contempt-generating): Toward Contempt-generating — Severe; "Babylon" applied to mainstream Christianity renders neighbors-to-love into categories-to-flee
  • Pair 8 (Sentimentality/Incarnational Charity): Toward Sentimentality — Grand prophetic drama replaces engagement with the proximate neighbor; externalized causation removes the specific person from the accountability frame

Near-truth architecture: Detected — Excision Count 4 (2 Active, 2 Partial) Coordinated direction: Yes — each mechanism reinforces the others

Reader Guidance: DISENGAGE — This content's architecture systematically produces counterfeit formation through undisclosed sectarian framework, tribal capture through prophetic insider knowledge, contempt-generation dressed as biblical discernment, and sentimentality masked as spiritual seriousness.

Run 2 — Representative YouTube video drawing on Great Controversy framework

Formation Designation: SPIRITUAL COUNTERFEIT ARCHITECTURE

Pairs at counterfeit pole (7 of 8): Identical pattern to Run 1 — the video faithfully transmitted the formation architecture of its source material.

Near-truth architecture: Detected — Excision Count 3 Coordinated direction: Yes

Reader Guidance: DISENGAGE

C. Theology Grader v6.0 Composite

Subject: Seventh-day Adventist Church — 28 Fundamental Beliefs (official doctrinal statement, 1980, revised 2005)

Orthodoxy Gate: B1–B3 clear (Trinity, Incarnation, bodily resurrection). B4 compromised (White's functional authority contradicts stated Scripture-alone position). B5 compromised (IJ doctrine introduces provisional soteriology inconsistent with "Christ sole mediator" of finished work).

Architecture: Prophetic-Forensic primary (Great Controversy metanarrative; IJ as soteriological center); Covenantal/Devotional secondary.

AxisScoreTier
Theosis6/30D — CLOSED
Love as God's Nature9/30D — Absent or Reduced
Communicative Effectiveness10/30—
Apostolic Fullness20/35—

Key findings by axis:

Theosis (6/30 Tier D): The IJ doctrine prevents present-tense assurance (C1 at 0 after architecture effect). The remnant doctrine produces the opposite of poverty of spirit (C4 at 0 after architecture effect). The Great Controversy frame routes love through legal vindication (C3 at 2). Adjusted for architecture effects and E-stage falsification: 6/30. Drive-to-Abide Test: No — sustained formation drives toward Sabbath compliance, remnant alignment, and separation from Babylon; not toward John 15 vine-abiding.

Love (9/30 Tier D): Love listed as one attribute among others rather than as ontological ground (K1 at 2). Trinity not developed as interior ground of love (K2 at 2). Cross embedded within legal-vindication frame (K3 at 2). Spirit as interior teacher of love absent as developed theme — reduced to 0 after KF2. Suffering present but in eschatological-persecution register rather than Gethsemane-pruning register (K5 at 2). Form is institutional-propositional; does not carry love in its voice (K6 at 1). Total: 9/30.

Apostolic Fullness (20/35): Strengths in H3 (Judgment, 4/5), H5 (Mission, 4/5). Significant loss in H6 (Gifts, 1/5 after falsification — gift of prophecy institutionally domesticated into White's authority). H4 (Israel and the Nations) at 2/5 — covenant story absent. Total: 20/35.
