AI web building is sick ( like cool sick)

By Michael W Winslow ·

So I ask Claude, what could i add to make things better on the website, and it gives me a two page list.. nice stuff.. but im lazy and didnt want to type let's talk about x and let's build Y etc.. i said - give me a list with checkboxes of what i want build and what talked about..

boom!

check boxes!

You picked 9 to build and 2 to talk about. That is too much for one deploy, so I’d split the builds into four versions. You review each one and deploy it yourself, and nothing goes live until you do.

v82: small, low risk

  • Broken-link and dead-feed check in the admin
  • Public “what changed” page
  • “Start here” path on the home page. I’d draft the cards and wording from what’s already on the site. You can reword them before deploying.

v83: reader features

  • Reading progress and “continue where you left off”
  • Printable chapter or essay

v84: links and sharing

  • Related reading at the end of posts and book parts
  • “Share this quote” picture on Quote of the Day

v85: the two that need a design decision first

  • Share cards for blog posts. The site can’t draw pictures on the server. The workable way is for the admin to draw the card in your browser when you publish and save it with the post. Posts that already have a cover picture would keep it.
  • Scripture links with a NET pop-up. I need to know where the verse text comes from. NET’s free web service means each reader’s browser contacts that service, and your privacy wording would need a line saying so. The other way is bundling the text into the site, which makes it much larger.

To talk about, not build

  • “Who is this for” page for the DMI
  • Automatic scheduled backup to Google Drive

Should I start v82 now, in this order? You can still change the order or move any item between versions.

do it
