A Creed of the Life We Share

Revised v1 — Michlaude Discipleship Project Coram Deo · Soli Deo Gloria

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, maker of heaven and earth, whose very being is self-giving love.

We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, crucified under Pontius Pilate for us and for our sins, died and was buried, raised bodily on the third day, ascended to the Father's right hand, and coming again to judge the living and the dead and to make all things new.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and rests upon the Son, who spoke through the prophets, who unites us to Christ, who makes us partakers of the divine nature by grace, who pours the love of God into our hearts, who leads us into truth, and who dwells in us now.

We believe the Holy Scriptures, given by the Spirit, are faithful witnesses to Christ, and our sure guide to knowing God.

We believe eternal life is to know the Father and the Son, begun now by the Spirit, fulfilled in the resurrection of the dead and the renewal of all things.

We believe we enter this life only in poverty of spirit, by grace through faith, not by works, receiving the forgiveness of sins and marked by one baptism — and we invite all who are weary to come and receive Him.

We believe we grow by abiding in Christ, in prayer, in the Word, in the breaking of bread, in taking up the cross, and in loving one another as He has loved us, living all of life before the face of God.

We believe the Church is one, holy, catholic and apostolic, the fellowship of the Spirit, given for worship, for holiness, and for the healing of the world.

We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
